The News Media Guild has hired Marissa Dadiw as a full-time organizer to bolster union efforts.

Dadiw has been tasked with leading union organizing campaigns at media companies primarily based in the New York area, as well as nationwide news services or websites. She will be vital in working with local organizers, identifying committee members and recruitment.

Dadiw is a communications professional with a background in the book publishing and nonprofit industries. She joined the News Media Guild full-time after being a member organizer for more than three years, working to build a union in the scholarly publishing sector.

Now, Dadiw is working with both publishing and media professionals to build power in previously underrepresented industries.

Originally from California, Dadiw has been in New York for the past 5 years working as a copywriter and copyeditor. She’s thrilled to be a part of the exciting wave of organizing that the Guild is leading across the country.
