News Media Guild member and Minneapolis newsman Jeff Baenen  celebrates his 35th anniversary with AP on Feb. 6.

 

Among those joining in the congratulations was Minneapolis photographer and NMG member Jim Mone (right), who celebrated his 40th anniversary with AP on Nov. 1, 2012. Jeff has worn many hats over the years, including broadcast editor, videographer and arts and entertainment reporter. He joked that he’s now halfway to retirement.

Also included is a photo from Jim’s anniversary party of Jim and News Media Guild chair Steve Karnowski.

Jim, whose preference for casual dress is legendary, is wearing a tie that Steve gave him festooned with little Speed Graphic view cameras, which Steve bought for him at the Newseum. Minneapolis COB Michele Morgante had to tie it for him.
