News Media Guild President Martha Waggoner and Secretary-Treasurer John Braunreiter review the Labor Day cards collected to give to AP CEO Gary Pruitt.
The cards ask Pruitt to give the staff a fair contract that recognizes their value and hard work and doesn’t decrease their standard of living.
A total of 603 people, including editorial and technical staffers from every state and 20 retirees, signed the cards.
They were presented to AP on Monday, when bargaining resumed after a short hiatus. National mobilizer Linda Johnson led the effort to collect signatures.
